Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20230824 Rel. 61490

We installed a brand new EAP225 about a week ago. When it works, it's wonderful, but once every 2-3 days, connected clients can't reach the internet. Once that happens, clients can't connect to it, althought its SSIDs are still visible to devices. We've tried waiting for a period of time to see if it recovers but have never seen it do so. We find that we have to cycle the power to the EAP and then it works correctly again.

We would like to understand whether there's a configuration change that we can make to improve reliability or whether we need to return (and possibly replace) the hardware.

Hi  @JFHTFS

There could be several reasons why this is happening. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:

  1. Firmware Update: Make sure your EAP225 is running the latest firmware. An outdated firmware can cause unstable connections and other issues.

  2. Check DHCP: Make sure your DHCP server(Router) is working correctly. If the DHCP server is not assigning IP addresses correctly, it can cause clients to lose internet access.

  3. Interference: Check for possible interference. Other wireless devices, such as cordless phones, microwaves, or other APs, can interfere with the EAP225's signal.

  4. Overloading: Make sure the EAP225 is not overloaded with too many clients. If there are too many devices connected to the EAP225, it can cause it to become unstable.

  5. Power Issues: Make sure the EAP225 is receiving adequate power. If it's powered via PoE, make sure the PoE injector or switch is supplying enough power.
