Hello All

There are a few basic functions that even the cheapest home tp-link router support

1-DHCP reservation

2-NAT

3-UPnP

I would love to see those implemented in the next firmware release.

Thanks,

Hi @Tipo_PR

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

According to the product specs, it does not support the mentioned features.

See more on the specs page.

If these features are must-haves, please consider a model from Omada.

Ok, thanks. Regarding the three missing features that would be really good to have, you pointed out NAT. I think you meant that it does support NAT features, because the way you said it suggests that it doesn't. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, could you point out where in the Festa dashboard I can enable the NAT/DMZ function? I can't seem to find it anywhere—maybe it hasn't been implemented yet.

Thanks,

@Tipo_PR i would also add to the list a few IPSec features, namely VTI route-based configuration (to improve MTU), as well as the possibility of doing full tunnel IPsec (e.g. 0.0.0.0/0 as remote subnet for clients.)

Thanks,

UPNP is under the tab of NAT. And so does the DMZ.

NAT tab.

I am not working with the marketing team and I am not a project manager. I am not sure how they classify this product but AFAICS, the product coming out now are separating the regular home, skilled home users, pro-consumers, and business users.

I would recommend people use Omada as it is the mainstream product. Festa may not satisfy the growing needs of some users as the network expands.

There was merely a 2 or 3 feedback on VTI on Omada. No one has asked about this feature on Festa yet.

And we have not planned about VTI yet. Just aware that very few users might need it.

As a home-use-oriented product, this feature might be too advanced and off-topic for it. I'd recommend you consider the Omada if you wish to have more routing related products down the road.

OK understood, i am actually liking using it so far, it is at my parents house as their router, i got it so I can manage it remotely through the Festa cloud and see if they are having any issues. It has been running well on their gigabit cable connection, and I have measured IPSec throughput at around 240-260mbps, which is fine.

I will point out that it is a bit confusing that this forum is listed under the "Business" category, if indeed the product is intended for "home use" as you say.
