Devices connected to easy managed switch does not get IP assigned by router
Hi everyone,
Hoping someone can point me (a beginner) in the right direction!
I have a basic setup with a R7406 gateway, ES205GP switch, and a single EAP670 AP powered through the switch. A connected windows computer is running the controller software with all devices adopted.
I want to use the spare ports on the switch to connect a couple of clients, but when I connect a client to a port on the switch it does not get an IP issued, only clients connected directly to the gateway do.
What have I done wrong with my configuration?

I found the same problem, it works now :-) but it should be possible to enable All for easy managed switch

@ all
The problem is the missing "all" Profiles for Easy-Managed Switches.
We need to manually create port profles and apply them (to the uplink ports too).

Hi @aksw127
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
You probably need to wait for a while before you see they are synced to the controller.
They should be working I think. The switch syncs to the controller about their IPs. Note that the sync between devices to the controller on data like stats is not instant.

i ordered a pair of ES205GP v1.0 and have a similar problem, default lan works but none of my vlan (tagged and untagged). i have enabled Easy Managed Switch on all vlan, controller is Windows 5.15.6.4 Beta
Firmware Version ES205GP v1.0 1.0.1 Build 20240801 Rel.41455
Everything looks right but it doesn't work, Are there any more places to configure?
I have also tested firmware Version 1.0.0 Build 20240721 Rel.42902 with same result.
In stand alone is vlan ok, no problem.

I was just going through the same pain. In looking through various configs, I noticed the uplink/downlink port profile setting on all the other switches use 'All' but that is not a selectable profile on the ES205G and ES205GP.
I managed to get things working by creating a profile 'All_VLANs' and adding all the tagged networks to it then selecting it for the uplink port on the two switches.
Devices are now getting addresses from my dhcp server (opnsense firewall) but the address is not being seen on the client list on the controller.
Given the firmware for the ES205G is v1.0.1 and the ES205GO is v1.0.0 I'm un-surprised there are 'quirks'

yes I figured it out, I didn't think clear here for a while. but it should have been possible to enable the All profile on easy managed switch, but ok, now I know.

Initial feedback from support:
The Easy Managed switches support a limited number of VLANs, but the profile ALL may contain a large number of VLANs, so there are design limitations in place. Currently, these switches do not support selecting 'All' on the ports; you will need to create a profile yourself to add VLANs.
Makes sense, they're only small devices.
Lack of ip addresses being shown still being looked at.

And to close it all off..
After testing and confirmation by our senior engineers, the conclusion is that it is currently not possible to display the client's IP on the controller's client list for Easy Managed models such as ES205G. This is because Easy Managed switches do not collect client IP information and therefore do not report the IP to the controller. Hence, the phenomenon you mentioned is normal.

Came to the same conclusion after struggling with the same issue for a while.
Is there any indication if there will be a new firmware (ES205GP) solving this, and when?

I have exactly the same behavior. For me, the switch is pretty much useless if I can't see which IP addresses the clients are assigned. I really hope there will be an update for the ES205G otherwise I will have to return it. I expected the IP addresses to be displayed.
