Is it somehow possible to switch individual access points ON or OFF using a URL?
I would like to have only one AP running all day and switch the others on using a logic that I will manage in Loxone.

  • I would prefer it if this could be done using a URL, like this:
    IP_from_Switch/port6_poeON
    IP_from_Switch/port6_poeOFF
Or a different command if i can tell the AP in a direct command to turn off the Radios instead of switching the Switch PoE Support of the specific port)
If it is just possible with an API than i need Help how it could look like...

  • Another option I see is to operate the AP using a external power supply (then without PoE LAN Connection) and switch the power supply using a smart socket over Loxone.

I don't really want to go with "PoE Schedule" option of the switch... it's too inflexible.

I would be extremely grateful for your help,
Thank you in advance,
T.

Hi  @AT__

That's easy.

You can manually turn off the POE supply for the EAP ports on the following page:

Hi  @AT__

I don't think that's possible.

The POE schedule feature is for scenarios like yours.

May I ask why you don't want to use the POE schedule function?

Are there other requirements? Maybe you can share us more details so we could understand better.

Wish you a happy life and smooth network usage!

Hi Vincent,

thanks for your answer.

For example: one AP is just for the home office

I work from home one day a week, but always on a different day of the week, so I can only solve this inefficiently with port schedule.

Therefore it would be nice if I could switch this via home automation (then start it with a button and 10 hours later it can switch off again or even cooler method: switch it on and off via defined IP's that are in the network (that i don't know if its practical but in loxone it would be easy to try).

This method would probably mean that he doesn't have to run 100 hours a week for nothing, so just only maybe 15 hours (saves energy year after year).

Similar situation in the garden, it would only need to run on demand and not 24 hours/365 days... (maybe 30h instead of 4800h (plug it out over the winter time)

Hope you can follow my "green" idea behind.

Maybe you have another great idea?
Thanks Thomas

Thanks.
For the one for the home office, yes, I could do it that way.

For all the others, this solution doesn't get me to my goal yet, because I don't want to have to go into a web interface if I want to listen to some music in the garden via WiFi.

My dream solution would therefore be to use a button that I have in Loxone (a physical button i can press or even just virtual over the Loxone app, does no matter -> This also makes it easy for everyone else in the family), to control it via URL command,... or something else in an digital way over the Network.

You see, I have a little challenge for you :)

If this doesn't work (if there is really no solution for this), I'll probably go for the solution without POE and with a smart socket and cut the power supply for each AP i don't need...

Thanks, Thomas
