Model: EAP245
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.2.0

After updating 3x EAP245 (v3.0) to 5.2.0 there are several clients (various sorts, mostly at 2.4ghz) not connecting anymore or losing connection all the time.
I downgraded them to 5.1.0 and all is fine again.

I also have 2x EAP225 running at 5.1.6 and they seem to be fine as well.
So I think there is something going on with the 5.2.0 firmware version.

Hi  @dagoosemusic

What kind of clients are having this prooblem?

Please compare the SSID encryption before and after the upgrade, this is most likely due to the poor compatibility of these dropped devices with the new encryption method.

  @Vincent-TP
I have several Sonoff devices not connecting (mini r4 doesn't connect at all but several others have serious issues), homewizard P1 meter and funny enough also a TP link (tapo c310) camera goes offline as soon as I update. Also my zendure battery system is acting up when I update, loses connection at least once an hour.
Yesterday I updated 1 accespoint again and gave it a full memory clear and adopted again. Same problem, not connecting and after the downgrade to 5.1.0, all fine again.
It's 100% sure something in the firmware.

What new encryption method? There is nu such change in the release notes. Problems like this could be prevented if the release notes would actually provide all necessary information.

Please provide release notes with all the actual changes.

@PhyHi Agreed. I had the same issue, both my 2 Tapo camera's on 2.4 G as my smartphone / laptop were unable to stay connected in a stable fashion. I tried WPA mixed, WPA2 AES forced and about everything in between. It has nothing to do with the encryption.

@Vincent-TP Firmware 5.2.0 has a serious flaw.

Hi  @ReneS89

Thank you for the feedback.

Are all the wireless clients affected?

Please share more details of the situation:

1. How often will the disconnection happen?
2. When the issue happened, will the SSID disappear, or still show on the wifi list?
3. How will the connection be recovered? Will it be recovered automatically, or will a reboot be required?
4. When the issue happened, would all wireless clients lose internet connection simultaneously, or would some clients still be working?
5. What's the IP address of the clients when the issue happened? Still correct IP, or 169.254.x.x?

If downgrade the firmware to 5.1.0, will the issue disappear?

Hi  @PhyHi

It's been quite a while since your last feedback.

How is the performance these days?
