Implemented Add Local DNS and supply documentation for Local DNS on ER707-m2
Please add local DNS support to ER707-M2 for all HW versions and provide Documentation on how to configure it via Omada Controller
User-Story:
I have around 200 Network-Devices in my Home-Lab local Lan and i want to use the Omada DHCP Service.
It would be great to get all Leases fixed or temporary to show up in a local DNS or in the DNS-Cache.
Why?
Why do that at all? Because others in the same price segment offer the functionality. Customers are fickle bunch.
Why for all HW-Versions?
If you order online, you never now what version you will get.
Proposed Solution:
Make DHCP-Lease-Table available to the already implemented DNS-Cache.
Replication to the table to the Cache-Table only needs to be done if a new lease is requested or every hour
If you want to be fancy, do as others do and add the option to the DHCP whether or not ot put the Adress into the "export"-Table
Second possible solution:
Add DNS as distinct Service to the Router, or maybe to the Controller.
Third possible solution:
Add a dedicated appliance to your lineup.

So .. to get this option to appear on an Omada managed setup running a ER707-M2 v1.0
1. update your OC200 firmware
2. update your router firmware
3. login to the web link for cloud (not the app on your phone) i.e https://use1-omada-cloud.tplinkcloud.com/#cloudAccessManager
4. go to Network Conf >LAN, look on top right for LAN DNS
