Hi, I need to power a non POE enabled device in a location that does not have power,

The device is 5v @ 2A max so total 10w. I belive I can use a TPlInk TL-POE10R splitter set at 5v to match the device. These are rated at 12w so should be fine. Eventually it will be connected to my ER7212PC router POE port but temporarily I want to utilise a spare  TL-POE4824G which came with one of my EAP245.

Can anyone see any compatibility issues bwtween the TL-POE4824G and either the eventual ER7212P or the temporary POE4824G (the latter is rated at 24w)

Many thanks

@Fozzie Bear, yes. The IEEE 802.3 (af, at or bt) specs are for active POE.

Hi @Fozzie Bear,

I don't think the TL-POE4824G Injector will work with TL-POE10R splitter.  The POE4824G is "passive" and the POE10R is "active".  The ER7212P should use "active" poe and work with the TL-POE10R.

@D-C many thanks for the reply. I didn't realise the Poe injector for EAP devices were passive. Is the TL-PoE160S an active injector?

many thanks
