Hello, I would like to create a ring design for link down stiuations between switches. All of my switches managed on sofware omada controller.  You can see my design below. I have enabled rstp on all of my switches and set Bademli Rack Cabinet as root switch. But when I plug the cable between forked switch and wedding hall switch, wedding hall switch are inaccesible. How can I solve this issue to make it work as backup connection ?

  @GRL Hello okay I found settings, here what I configured on forked switch;

The ones switch profile which supposed to be spare connection settings which is Port 2

The one should be selected prior to above port above ise which is Port 2

But result is opposite;

not sure, i havent tried a ring topology myself (i implemented somehting different, backup links for each switch in the rack going to central location should a LAG fail or a switch factory reset and block its uplink LAG due to loop)

Im not certain why this isnt working for you, i believe it should be

Did hou try a reboot of all the switches after setting this up to force STP to regenerate the full table?

You need to make sure that the rSTP profile "CIST Priority" value of each switch is different, with the root switch being the lowest value (higher values are lower priority)

Then, set up port profiles enabling rSTP, and increase the priority value upwards for each linked port.  The lower the priority value, the higher priority that link is

in the below, the "core switch" is bademill tower

Router > core switch priority 16

Core switch to remote switch 1, priority 32

core switch to remote switch 2, priority 32

remote switch to remote switch priority 64

core switch CIST 4096

remote switch 1+2 CIST 8192

Main: ER8411 x1, SG3428X x1, SG3452 x1, SG2428LP x1, SG3210 x1, SG2218P x1, SG2008P x3, ES208G x1, EAP650 x6 Remote: ER7206 v2 x1, ER605 v2 x3, SG2008P x2, EAP650 x2, ES205G x1 Controller: OC300

  @GRL

You mean like;

Bademli Rack Kabin Priority = 4096
Bademli Tower = 8192
Forked Switch = 12288

Wedding Hall = 12288

None of those switches are router, all of are omada switches. Router is a pfsense.  And in port configuration there is no option to set "core switch priority" as you see below or do I get it wrong ?

  @GRL No actually I dont have such option. Is there any global settings to active that on omada controller web page ?

My omada controller version: 5.15.8.2

Hi @umutsati

You need to go to the switch profile page instead of the page where you edit the port and edit the profile BTW. The dedicated page for the switch profile should offer more options.
