I have tried many times to enter the password for the AP. I use admin. I have done resets, restarts, PC fixed IP address etc. to no help. What else is there to do?

Will the CPE say wrong password? Please share a screenshot of the page when failed to login.
You may reset the CPE again, and this time, please write down the management account you created, and use an easy password such as 123456.
