Hello, I have a question, why is my VIGI Security manager app playback / liveview lagging?

When I watch live view on NVR Web GUI, it works perfectly fine, for LQ and HQ, but VIGI Security manager can not handle it even in LQ mode, it runs fine for 3 seconds, then it starts stuttering.

Playback is even worse, because it plays in HQ, it is really laggy.

Playback on web gui can not even be played for some reason (worked before, but after few months, it stopped, maybe way too much recording events?)

^ It can be played on mobile app, the mobile VIGI app works best of all mentioned for me, even though the .

 

There can not be a problem with my PC / network, 300Mbit on PC, I5-13400f, RX 7800XT, 32 GB RAM.

VIGI app takes less than 1% of CPU and 700 MB of RAM, hardware encoding enabled and disabled.

Not really sure what to do, did reinstall of app as well.

 

I have also tried running it as administrator and in various compability modes.

If it lags, that indicates network problems. 

This is not a hardware issue; I think you should focus on diagnosing the network aspects.

Do you mind explaining, how it could be a network issue when:

 

I have installed 2 NVRs, one for me personally, one for a friend.

My property, where NVR is installed has 50Mbit internet, friends does have 200 Mbit.

 

Web GUI never lags, VIGI mobile app does not either.

I have also tried on multiple PCs on multiple locations, but VIGI windows app's stream / playback keeps lagging.

Playback / stream from VIGI SM lags for both NVRs!

 

How can any of this be a network issue?

How many video streams do you have at one time?

How many cameras do you have?

What quality do you view remotely outside the local network?

 

You would never run into an issue in the same LAN. When you are outside the LAN, that requires your upload on the WAN.

I have 1 stream at a time, the issue happens when doing a playback even for 1 camera.

I have 3 cameras a friend I installed it for has 2 while having 200/200 Mbit WAN speed, I have 50/50 on the premise I have it installed.

 

In SM app I view in LQ, which is the lowest possible, set to - 736x416, 20 FPS, max 256 kbps and it still lags...
^ Just to remind you, I can watch all 3 cameras via Web GUI (remotely) with HQ quality, 2K, 25 fps, and on VIGI android app 1 camera in HQ quality, so the internet speed is not an issue.

 

I am a network engineer, so I kind of understand how networking works...
