Model: EAP773
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.14

Why are you completely ignoring the firmware updates for EAP773?

It's an AP for WiFi7 and the last firmware came out a year ago.

I've never seen either early access firmware or beta firmware.

I only ever see early access or beta firmware for the EAP772 or EAP783.

Why are you completely ignoring the EAP773? It contains a lot of bugs.

Hi  @Pista24

The next firmware version for the EAP773 is still in the testing phase. We must ensure it passes all tests before release, so please wait patiently.

As for the bugs you mentioned, could you provide more details about the specific issue?

Just so you know, if you have multiple issues, please start one thread for each issue to ensure focus follow-up.

@Pista24 another two months of silence seems to indicate a sincere lack of attention and care for this product by TP-Link - a real shame.

Every device I have except the AP has been updated in the last six months, most in the last two. So sad that it's been over a year now since the last update and fixes for the AP.

@sk0gg1es yeah the EAP 773 is turning out to be just like the EAP 660 HD was, where it was like a year and a half to 2 years before there was any firmware update for it.

That's just all post from Vincent about a 6 months ago claiming that the new firmware would be out no later than the next month from that post. And yet here we are.

It's even been scrubbed out of the betas.

They released new firmware for the EU version of EAP773 V1. Not sure what's the hold up for the US version. Maybe because the EU version is global, and the US version is only US?

I also noticed that they now have an EAP773 V2 and V2.6 on the US firmware download page. Judging by the GPL code they released, the V2.6 is based on IPQ5332 instead of the higher performance IPQ9574 present in the V1. This is the same chipset they're using in the new EAP787.

*update

just to be fair and more specific as to what i found issue with.

EAP773(US)_V1.6_1.1.5 Build 20251230

release date: 02-04-2026

EAP773(US)_V1.6_1.1.2 Build 20251030

release date: 02-04-2026

EAP773(US)_V1.6_1.0.14 Build 20240801

release date: 09-10-2024

EAP773(US)_V1.6_1.0.13 Build 20240417

release date: 05-24-2024

EAP773(US)_V1.6_1.0.12 Build 20240312

release date: 04-18-2024

so between 1.0.14 and 1.1.2 there was a 1 year gap without anything sad

Re:EAP773 firmware
Yesterday

  @Pista24

I own two 690e HD which never received anything except a beta update. Flagship 700$ access point and not 1 update. Now I made the mistake to trust TPlink again because I dont want to change the rest of my stack...... Almost wish they ban TPlink and force me

  @IamMurphy

another thing that got me worried was this

https://www.reddit.com/r/TpLink/comments/1qrxkg6/deco_be85_security_updates_ceasing_in_september/

be85 cease security update in september for the singaporean model (doesnt apply to US model apparently).

for context

"TP-Link Deco BE85 became available in Singapore in the second half of 2023, with major retailers stocking the product around July and August of that year. "

and now is Feb 2026. so almost 3 years then no more security patches? that seems a bit much.....

different model than eap773 sure, but it made me worry when our model gets similarly thrown under the bus with such a short life time for maintenance.

seriously tplink, what gives? if you want to retain customers or expected future purchases, don't do such short life times for the updates for your products. that really brings into question whether to buy future products on not if we can't be certain how long to expect updates, and how well you provide those updates without long gaps in between releases.

i got a tplink omada eap-773 to give that a try after moving away from ubiquiti to check it out. it looks fine, but the firmware update and how long we can expect them has got me worried tbh :/

for ubiquiti for their pro line wifi ap, they claim to expect at least 10 years of updates.
