yes, it is enabled. I stopped the controller now for 15 hours or something and now I started it up again and disabled DNS Proxy and DNS Cache until now I couldn't see any re-adoption again.

I'm not sure if that causes that.. at least in my opinion that wouldn't make sense.. but I noticed when it was enabled I had problems accessing some websites

The reason I was wondering if you had enabled device management, I think the latest firmware for ER8411 supports that feature, there's really no point in enabling it if you don't have a multisite network. I have it on but use a name like oc,myside, net I have also created a LAN DNS to oc,mysite, net that points to the local controller so that no router or other local devices try to connect via the WAN interface.

but if you only have one site then try disabling device management.

@MR.S Okay, good point will try that, I actually have two sides, but since the external side is anyways connected over a VPN with a DynDNS address that's fine not having there an address.

The weird thing is.. when I turned the controller off and on for like 15 hours and then it worked for almost 3 hours fine, but then the loop came back, even for the fact I didn't change anything.

For me it wouldn't matter if the router does that even every 2 minutes.. problem is just when the router tries to reconfigure after the adoption process, it disconnects me from the internet and reconnects me.

Not sure since I'm planing to get the OC220 when it is available here in Germany (hopefully soon), it will hopefully work better.. until now the onliest solution is turning off the controller. The turning off of device management didn't change something, 2 minutes later heartbeat lost.

since it happens when the router configures so I was wondering if it could be device management causing problems. I have an ER8411 and haven't had the same problem as you have. I run the controller on an old Windows PC, I have controllers on raspberry pi with other Omada routers they have also worked fine. I don't really know what your problem is but you should get TP-Link support to look at your configuration, I suspect there may be something with the configuration somewhere.

but one last suggestion, if you used a name on device management then it is saved in the config for the different devices, try to create the same name on LAN DNS that points to the local IP on the controller. that way you override any WAN IP that is used on the internet. in device view you can activate controller connection IP, if it shows WAN IP then it will be wrong when you have the controller locally.

As you can see here, 192.168.30.1 is connected to the controller, that's correct since the controller is on this network

At the remote site, it is the WAN IP of the remote site that is connected to the controller.

I mean the thing I don’t get is the ER7412-M2 works perfectly fine too on that configuration. The same connection path as the ER8411 Gateway -SFP- SG3428X-M2 -RJ45- Synology The controller is running in Host mode if that matters so the NAT of docker isn’t the issue though

The ER7412-M2 is running the old firmware, it hasn't gotten firmware to 5.15.20 yet I think, there are some changes if you use the new ER8411 version 1.3.2, but hard to say, I think the ER8411 got support for device management in version 1.3.2 like the other routers. The ER7412-M2 still doesn't have support for it, that's why I suspected something there. but that's just a guess. I don't know..

@MR.S good point, I may try setting my side up again because the direct connection to my synology also worked without any disconnects..

Maybe there is something broken with the big gap between the 2 router's firmware's.

@MR.S something I noticed while recreating a new site is, that the adoption process of the router takes pretty much forever, like 2-5 minutes, the ER7412-M2 was way quicker than that, like started to adopt configuring and finished

2-5 minutes sounds normal on an ER8411, ER605v2 takes 5-15 minutes, but how does it work for you now?
