Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello, I am an 80 year old man that I bought from Amazon the TP-Ling AC1200 wireless to have a few cameras and never setup.

Some how I used the Omada app to what I believe to be an outside access point for my daughter in a motorhome that is about 300 or 400 feet.

The signal is just to weak inside of the motorhome from the antenna of the AC1200.

The unit is about 4 feet from the ground on a T-post for testing and planning to put on the side of a tower about 20feet high, but the signal would have to pass through a hollytree about 20 feet away between the antenna to the motorhome.

My questing is can a WiFi Antenna 2.4GHz 18dBi High Gain Yagi Directional Antenna be connected to one of the SMA connection on the AC1200?

Second question should it be a bridge setup or an access point to work with my wyze cameras?

Sorry for the long post

Larry

Hi  @Larry_N7LUF

>>>If the tree density is not too high and there are minimal intermediate obstacles, the built-in antennas should suffice. What's more, we cannot guarantee compatibility with third-party antennas.

This is a guide on how to choose an antenna:

>>> If you can use an Ethernet cable to connect the EAP225-outdoor, it will be access point mode and it will be plug-and-play.

If you are planning to wirelessly connecting the EAP225-outdoor to your main router, you can configure it as repeater mode.
