TP-Link AC1200 EAP225-Outdoor Cannot Connect
I have purchased an EAP225-Outdoor to extend my WiFi into a detached garage about 50m away from my house. I have Internet over Electricity from my router to the garage and intend to connect the EAP to the Ethernet plug in the garage. The internet over electricity system works as I already have an existing CCTV system in place (but needs replacing).
My intention is to mount the EAP in the garage, connect it to the POE with the Ethernet cable. Then have another Ethernet cable from the LAN port on the POE into the electricity plug. The internet over electricity is a TP-Link TL-PA4010KIT Nano AV600 Then I can connect a couple of TP wifi cameras to the EAP.
I have connected the EAP via Ethernet cable to the POE using the POE socket and plugged the POE into the electricity. There is a solid green light on the POE. Having never used one of these before I'm assuming that when the EAP has power it broadcasts a WiFi signal that I should pick up on my mobile phone but it doesn't.
I have tried resetting the POE but the green light just stays green. I have tried resetting the EAP but nothing happens. I'm assuming there are no lights on the EAP. I have also tried plugging the Ethernet cable into my laptop and accessing it but that doesn't work either. I'm beginning to think it's broken!
Any help would be appreciated.
