CPE710 issues
I have 4 acres, with my house and a steel shed that's my workplace about 100m away.
I have fibre to the house, a netcom modem and then a wireless mesh network in the house using Deco M5s which I've extended to the shed with an M5 in an outbuilding and then one in the shed which houses my workshop and future office (as soon as i can get the internet working properly up there). But this only works when the roller door to the shed is open as it's a giant faraday cage when the door is shut. So, i've installed a pair of CPE710s to act as a wireless bridge - one on the house and one on the shed, in direct line of sight.
I want my existing house wireless network to be the same in the shed so I can have seamless roaming and so that I can access media on a RAID array attached to my computer when it's in the office and I'm in the house.
We tried setting the House CPE710 as an access point that's plugged directly into the modem and the one at the shed as a client and this worked in terms of actually being able to set it up as per the (very poor) instruction manual. However, I was intending to use a Deco M5 in the shed as an access point but I can't call it the same name as my other network because apparently "too many networks with this name already exist). So that's the first issue that I don't know how to solve. Do i have to unplug my existing network, set up the deco as the same and then turn everything back on again or is this going to confuse the crap out of everything? So far, I can't set up the decos unless my phone with the app on it is connected to a network so that's a problem.
My question is what configuration do i need to set my CPE710s in so that my existing wireless network is just bridged to the shed and then exists within it? Is it AP router mode or something else?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm so frustrated that I'm very close to taking a sledgehammer to these things and digging a 100m trench and putting a cable in instead. It shouldn't be this hard.
