I want to extend my wifi network to a garage roughly 300ft from my router. There is already an ethernet cable running the distance.

 

Can I simply connect an ethernet cable from the router to a TP-Link EAP225 Omada AC1350 access point?

You can plug the EAP225-outdoor to the Ethernet cable and get internet access.
