Im getting random wired clients show up in the clients list as IPC/NVR when they clearly are not, for example, our office photocopier

This photocopier is on a SG2008P v3.2 running 3.20.10 which included the IPC/NVR recognition updates in the firmware released a few weeks ago.

Im also getting 2 paxton door control units drop off the client list entirely (but still have communication) which are directly wired to a SG2428LP v1 running 1.0.8 (released end june) and another two paxton units which disappear, then reappear on the client list (but also never lose communications) directly on a SG3452 v1.2 running 1.20.10 (also from a few weeks ago)

It seems something is wonky with either LLDP in all the recent switch firmware or the controller side of things on recognition / listing clients.

If i reboot the whole system, everything comes back on the client list correctly, but after about 4 days things start disappearing from the list or being mis-recognised.

OC300 is running 1.30.7 from july

Hi  @GRL

It seems something is wonky with either LLDP in all the recent switch firmware or the controller side of things on recognition / listing clients.

>>>Does this mean, this only occurs after you updating the firmware version of the SDN devices?

What's the LLDP config on your controller?

Gateway LLDP is on

EAP LLDP is on

LLDP-MED is enabled on switch profiles

This only started hapenning on the most recent switch and controller firmware versions.

Hi  @GRL

The firmware update this time should not cause such issues. Has this problem recurred recently?

If yes, when the clients disappeared, please go to the terminal interface of the involved switches, and run the command show client, see if the disappeared clients is there.

  @Vincent-TP

It was hapenning all the time - however, interestingly, i took the time to go through every single wired device and using the new feature i set up the vendor, model etc, since then I havent seen any devices being mis-recognised and IPC/NVR.

If the problem with clients disappearing does come back, i will run the switch terminal command and let you know.
