Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build 20230414 Rel. 54437(5553)

Hello,

I'm new to more advanced networking than a standard modem+wifi router. I am trying to setup a 2nd 2.4ghz radio on a seperate VLAN (VLAN 2) than the others for a guest wifi seperation. My cable modem is connected to WAN/port 1 on my ER605 with port 5 going to my TL-SG108PE switch and my EAP610 connected to port 1 of my switch. Here is my router settings for vlans:

On my switch  I have these settings

Then I setup my second 2.4ghz SSID then went into vlan and enabled it on this SSID and set it to VLAN 2.

So far I thought I had everything done right yet my guest wifi will not get an IP address unless I disable VLAN on it. What am I doing wrong here?

Well, figured out my mistake. In the switch I setup port 1 (the port my AP is connected to) on the vlan 2, but never connected my uplink port to that vlan. Once I added my uplink port (port 8) and made sure on the vlan port 1 and port 8 were tagged, now its working.

Hi  @BAJim

You need to create a second VLAN interface for the router.

Below is a config guide:

How to create multi networks and manage network behavior with ACL on Omada Gateway in standalone mode

What's mode, for the TL-SG108PE switch port that EAP plugs to, it should configured as Tagged.

So in each VLAN has to have its own network and DHCP server? So I would setup the second network and put it on say port 3 on the router, then have the switch route all traffic for that vlan ID to say port 3 on the switch and connect port3 from the router to port 3 on the switch? And would I need to change the PVID for port 3 on the router to a different number than the primary network?

Hi  @BAJim

So in each VLAN has to have its own network and DHCP server?

>>>Yes, for multi-vlan networks, to get IP addresses from different IP subnets, we will need one DHCP servers for each VLAN.
