Model: EAP653
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.2 Build 20250827 Rel. 52728

I have been using iperf command on my two EAP653 to test network speed and it is not available anymore since the last firmware upgrade. It is still working perfectly ok on my other 3 EAP615-Wall(EU) v1.0 devices.
Is there some configuration I am missing or has the new firmware removed previously available commands from the CLI?

Hi  @aDamDr

Yes, the recent update of EAP653 removed the traditional Linux shell and brought our own command line interface (CLI).

The new TP-Link CLI currently does not support directly running iperf3 yet, we will report this to our product team and see if we could add it back in future releases.

Thanks.

  @Vincent-TP
Thank you for prompt response.
It would be nice though to inform about such change in the release notes. There is also some documentation on tp-link web pages on the usage of iperf for testing eap connection speeds which is now not valid anymore.
And why would it not be possible to keep it as an option, disabled by default? Which security concerns is this addressing?
BTW, seems that the new EAP CLI system has some bugs, when I access it with ssh I cannot exit it. exit or quit commands dont't exit the session. Maybe it would be possible just to add iperf to available commands in the new EAP CLI system? Is the new EAP CLI system described anywhere? I could not find anything using search neither on forums nor on google search.

OK, thanks for update. This sounds better :) Looking forward to some news on including iperf(3) in the EAP CLI
Btw, the EAP CLI has a bug that you can't exit it - where should I submit the bug?
