OK so I may have not understood the product but let me go through the situation and hopefully someone can explain/help.

I have an office in a metal garage that acts like a Faraday cage, till now I have had a USB dongle out the window of the garage to pick up the wifi signal from the house. I have a RE700X wifi extender in the house as close to the garage as possible and the signal is very strong outside the garage.

Thought a more outdoor designed solution would be a good idea for the coming winter months so decided on the CPE510. Followed the video instructions to set the CPE510 in client mode and hit survey, I can see every ones wifi in the village apart from my own.

I then read that the 510 is 5G so I disabled 2.4 from the RE700X extender so there is only a 5G signal which is still strong at the garage door where the CPE510 is currently sitting.

Ive seen comments about the narrow angle but I can connect to my friends wifi next door which is in the opposite direction to the CPE510.

Is it a channel issue?
