Model :

Hardware Version : TL-ER5120 v2.0

Firmware Version : 1.0.8 Build 20140212 Rel.36037

ISP :

Hi,
I have a small but somewhat complicated network as follows.
ISP->Netgear ADSL router (A) NAT enabled UPNP/DHCP disabled -> ER5120 load balancer port 1 NAT enabled UPNP/DHCP disabled
ISP ->Netgear cable router (B) NAT enabled UPNP/DHCP disabled -> ER5120 load balancer port 2 NAT enabled UPNP/DHCP disabled
ER5120 load balancer port 4 -> (192.yyy.yyy.1) TPLink W8980 WiFi router (A) NAT/UPNP/DHCP enabled -> 192.xxx.xxx.0/25 via the 192.xxx.xxx.1 gateway.
ER5120 load balancer port 5 -> (192.yyy.yyy.129) TPLink W8980 WiFi router (B) NAT/UPNP/DHCP enabled -> 192.xxx.xxx.128/25 via the 192.xxx.xxx.129 gateway

The 192.xxx.xxx.0/25 network (A) is mainly PCs etc which are configured to default to the 192.xxx.xxx.1 gateway
The 192.xxx.xxx.0/25 network (B) is mainly media devices and games consoles etc. which are configured to default to the 192.xxx.xxx.129 gateway
I would prefer the PCs to primarily use the ADSL gateway and the media devices to use the Cable gateway but to be able to use the other ISP if one feed fails.

I have configured the ER5120 as follows
Destination Subnet Mask Next Hop Interface Metric Status Description
192.xxx.xxx.0 255.255.255.128 192.yyy.yyy.1 LAN 0 Active Low range 0 to 127
192.xxx.xxx.128 255.255.255.128 192.yyy.yyy.129 LAN 0 Active High Range 128-254

I have also set the ER5120 to use the following policies for example.
192.xxx.xxx.190- 192.xxx.xxx.200 0.0.0.0-0.0.0.0 --- --- All Protocols WAN2 Always Media Active
192.xxx.xxx.130-192.xxx.xxx.150 0.0.0.0-0.0.0.0 --- --- All Protocols WAN2 Always ccTV Active
192.xxx.xxx.50-192.xxx.xxx.80 0.0.0.0-0.0.0.0 --- --- All Protocols WAN1 Always PC and Laptop Active

I have a question.

1. [SIZE=2]The ER5120 is setup so that Bandwidth load balancing is enabled and that the Link Backup is disabled. Unfortunately for some reason all the traffic is using the Cable gateway (WAN2) and not the ADSL gateway (WAN1), any suggestions as to what the issue may be?
Note that the ADSL router is working just fine.

thanks

--------------------------------------------
I have found a solution - not ideal but it works.
The ER5120 needs to see the address for each device in order to direct to a particular WAN port under the Policy Rules. So ideally the feed into the load balancer should be discrete IP addresses in an appropriate address range.
The W8980 routers in EWAN mode use NAT address translation, but cannot be set to use One to One NAT translation.
So the LAN address of the ER5120 needs to be in the same subnet as all the other devices.
In order to do this the W8980 need to be set to use DSL mode with firewall enable and the default gateway set to point to the new LAN address of the ER5120. This disables the NAT translation on the W8980 routers.
Unfortunately due to the limitations of MS Windows every PC needs to use the ER5120 as the default gateway as the W8980 effectively no longer functions as a router (except for the WiFi).
The directing of devices to either WAN interface using Policy Rules now works.

Long term fix needs:
1. TP Link to issue a firmware update for the W8980 to give the option of One to One NAT translation.
2. TP Link to issue a firmware update for the ER5120 to give the option of implementing Policy Rules using the MAC id of devices instead of IP addresses.
I would like to see both fixes but would be happy with either.
