Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 5.1.11

Hi,

I have 2 wireless AP setup at my home, one of the is an EAP225 and the other is the EAP225-Outdoor, iv been having issues lately with my Wifi, because sometimes my clients loose all connection, i have about 37 WiFi clients on my network, computers, tablets, IoT devices, cellphones, etc.

Iv notice when it happens that when i try to ping something from for example my cellphone, i cant ping anything, not the Wifi ap, or the router or anything on the internet, only way to fix it is by turning off the WiFi or reconnecting from my Wifi network, but this is getting annoying to the point that im thinking about dropping tplink for good cause i have found no solution to the problem.

Iv already try changing channels on the Wifi ap's, use wlan optimization, reducing the number of vlan's and ssid's, i use to have 7, now i only have 3, 1 of them is setup to 5ghz only and the other 2 are configured for both 2.4 and 5ghz.

One of my vlan's is dedicated to the IoT devices, one is for my main Wifi and one is for guests.

This forum is my last resort, i don't know what else to do, i was also considering to upgrade my network into EAP772-Outdoor and EAP772, but im a bit scared to spend that kind of money and keep the problems iv been having without a solution.  With that said my entire company network is built on tplink, and i have 6 EAP225 over there, i use to experience a problem like that b4, but what i did was also reduce the number of ssid's and vlan's and that solve the issue, but i havent been able to solve it at home, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit: i forgot to mention my controller is running on a docker container in linux, version is 5.15.24.19 which is the latest at the moment of writing this post

@Javito Do all devices lose connection at the same time? Also, is the issue only with Wi-Fi devices?

Would it be possible to factory reset the EAPs and see if the issue persists in Standalone mode? If it does not, it's possibly something with your Controller WLAN settings.

@NeilR_M I havent really notice if its with all wireless devices or with just some, ill try to do the standalone test and see if it yields better results, anything u would sugest for me as configuration wise in the controller just to test if it solves the issue?

Check the utilization of the EAPs just before the issue occurs. Also, does this disconnect only happen with wireless devices? What happens if you plug in a device directly via ethernet cable? Does it also have the same disconnecting issue?

Ill try to check the ap's utilization when that happens again, i have 37 wireless and 23 wired clients on my network, only the wifi clients has been experiencing the issue, to make things worst is not something that happens all the time, it happens at random times :-(

@NeilR_M Let me show u this ping im doing to my Tapo C200, that camera is almost next to the AP, like 2 mts at most, im attaching a screenshot of the ping results to the camera and the signal strenght on the controller ap website

I mean, how can that device have such strong signal and have such a terrible packet loss crying

@Javito I think a factory reset might be warranted here; it would be worth moving forward to test in Standalone first just to identify if it is a hardware issue or a configuration issue, and then move forward from there.

@NeilR_M I did a factory reset of the EAP225 yesterday and add it back to my controller, so far i haven't had any disconnections, but that tapo cam is still having issues, i don't know if its the cam that is bad or is an issue with the wifi, but ill keep testing the rest of my devices and see if if they dont have any issues, if they do, the next test would be to reset it again and set it up as standalone.

I also enable these just to test if it makes any diference

Hi  @Javito

Is the issue primarily with Tapo? If so, you may want to check out the following post and reference the configuration provided there.
