Hi all,
I have a TL-SG108E unmanaged switch connected to my router. Device A consistently shows a 1 Gbps connection and speeds around ~900 Mbps, but Device B and Device C, both plugged into the same switch with identical cables, only show ~95–100 Mbps. I’ve tried swapping ports and cables, but no change. The router port they go into hits full speed with another switch. Any idea why two devices on this switch are capped at ~100Mbps and what I should check next?

  @EricaDalton

The TL-SG108E is actually an easy-samrt switch providing WebGUI for configuring the switch features - details.

The default username / password for the TL-SG108E WebGUI is admin / admin.

The normal port configuration with a gigabit device connected in Port Config menu, should look like this:

The "MF" part specifically indicates "1000 Mega" (1000 Mbps) and "Full" duplex.

You can also observe the Port Statistics here:

What you can do is to make sure that the devices connected to the TL-SG108E are gigabt capable.

I they are, try using different ethernet cables that are at least Category 5E branded and observe the Speed/Duplex "Actual" (fig.1) or Link Status (fig.2) column.

You can even set a particular port Speed/Duplex "Config" from "Auto" to "1000MF" and experiment with this value.

Hi @EricaDalton, are you sure that devices B and C have 1GB adapters?  Not every device has/needs a 1GB adapter.  For example, every Smart TV I've had used a 100MB adapter.
