Hi everybody!

 

Got a strange DHCP logs from user's routers C6 or C64:

Gateway (ER8411) DHCP isnt pro-active, meaning it does not actively send out DHCP offers to clients.  It is purely reactive, meaning it only respons to DHCP requests from clients.

 

In this case, it looks like your Archer unite are constantly asking for DHCP, which the ER8411 responds to correctly.

 

The issue lies with how your Archer units are configured and.or topology issues.

 

The only other thing that can cause this is a potential loop or IP conflict somewhere

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

May I ask what is your network topology? Is the same log on both Archer C6 or Archer C64?

Is there any idea that you have of this device with IP 172.18.1.55?

Topology is simple. LAN = 172.18.1.0/24, gateway = 172.18.1.100

only 2 Archer c6 and Archer c64 have this problem.

I set this Archers into IP static mode.

Archer c64 had a same problem at 172.18.1.66 ip.

 

ER8411 have another bug in DHCP. that is more annoying.

Thanks for your valued reply.

It seems that you have many devices working with the ER8411. Could you provide the topology diagram to let us have a clear view of it?

Is the device with IP 172.18.1.55 the ER8411 or anything else?

topology have no rings.

nothing extraordinary.

~80 users. 1rang network.

exact my C6 was connected directly to er8411 lan port. Another C64 connected through 2 dlink switches that managed to filter dhcp spoofing only. (To prevent wrong dhcp from users who  mismatched lan and wan ports)

Hello  @GRL 

 

there is no issues from other router types at this IP.

only Archer C6/C64

Solution is to set IP as static.

Probably its C6/C64 firmware problem....

if anyone have Archer C6 v4.0 fw: 1.13.6 Build 240430 Rel.54880n(5255) --please check dhcp from er8144.
