Model: SG3218XP-M2   EAP673
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.19

Hello everyone.

After updating the firmware of my SG3218XP-M2 v1.0 from version 1.0.16 to 1.0.19, the 2.5 Gbps connection to my EAP673 v1.0 (firmware v1.1.1) no longer works.

It repeatedly attempts to adopt the device but usually fails.

Even when it does adopt, it's listed as connected to the wrong device in the connection overview, and after a while, the connection drops again.

This happens regardless of the cable I use; even with a direct connection using a 5m Cat. 7 cable, a stable 2.5 Gbps connection isn't possible.

It worked flawlessly with the previous firmware, version 1.0.16.

The only workaround at the moment is to reduce the connection speed to 1 Gbps.

The Omada Controler is V6.1.0.19

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and is there a solution?

Best regards, Thorsten

Hi  @Totti_14

Thanks for posting in our business forum.

May I ask what is your network topology? If the port speed set to 1G, the EAP673 V1 can be adopted without problem?

What "wrong" device the EAP673 connects to when it is adopted? If it failed to be adopted ,what was the error message?

Hi  @Hank21

Thanks for your answer.

May I ask what is your network topology?
I share the topology screenshot.

Yes I have set the port speed to 1G and then it works fine.

What "wrong" device the EAP673 connects to when it is adopted?
If the EAP 673 connect with 2.5G he shows connect to the Gateway ER7412-M2

If it failed to be adopted ,what was the error message?

With 2,5G port speed ist shows follow messages:
adopt / adopt failed / adopt / connected / provisioning / connected / heartbeat missed / disconnect

Feb 10, 2026 16:28:15  TXXXXX Devices

Fehlgeschlagen

XX-20-51-14-XX-XX failed to adopt.

Greetings Thorsten

Hi @Hank21 I have an Update.

I have change to switch port 4 and set the speed auto and it works with 2,5G.

I try to test again with a short cat.7 patchkabel at port 2 and it connects with 2,5G to.

Perhaps the connection is at the limit, causing interference.

The two additional patch cables and the fix installed cable already increase the resistance.

All my patch cables are Cat.7, and the patch panels, network sockets, and fixed cabling are all Cat.6.

It look like that port 4 has more power to connect?

I'll monitor it over the next few days to see if the switch reduces the speed or if there are any more dropouts.

It would be great if this could be found in the log data.

Regards, Thorsten
