Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with an issue on my TP-Link Omada ER7212PC and need some advice before I take any irreversible steps.

The device failed to boot after a firmware update. I used the Emergency Recovery Mode to flash the firmware. I tried both ER7212PC(UN)_V1_1.3.2 Build 20251015 and the older 1.3.1 Build 20250220.

Current Status:

• The underlying router/switch is working fine. The internet and local network are fully operational using the old configuration.

• The Omada Controller / Web UI is dead. When accessing the IP after reboot, the loading progress bar gets stuck at 71%, and drops to 0% after a page refresh. (Ruled out browser cache via Incognito mode).

I do not have a recent backup of the controller configuration. I am hesitant to do a hard Factory Reset because I want to avoid losing the entire network setup (or worse, bricking the device completely).

1. Has anyone experienced the Web UI getting stuck at exactly 71% on the ER7212PC? Any known fix without data loss?

2. Is there any way to extract the current configuration (.cfg/.bak) via SSH or other methods while the Web UI is inaccessible?

3. Is a Factory Reset completely safe from a hardware perspective in this specific state (no risk of bricking)?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hi  @tb1177

May I know which old firmware you tried to upgrade from?

How did you update the firmware of ER7212PC? Was there any power interruption or page exit during the firmware update?

  @Hank21

Hi,

To answer your questions:

• Old firmware version: Unfortunately, I don't know. I didn't check before clicking the update button in the web UI.

• Update process & Interruption: I initiated the update via the web UI. There was no power interruption on my end, but the process dragged on for over an hour and the device seemed completely dead (network down, no UI). Because it was completely unresponsive for so long, I had to do a hard reboot (unplugged from power).

• Firmware used for recovery: When I finally got into Emergency Mode, the interface showed firmware version 1.3.2. I tried flashing both the current 1.3.2 and the older 1.3.1 .bin files via this rescue page, but the result is the same (stuck at 71% UI load).

Hi  @tb1177

Since you have saved the old configuration and the emergency mode did not work for you to make the ER7212PC work again.

You may try to perform a hard reset and if the issue still persists, please try to contact the local support and provide with the forum ID to check warranty.
