OK.  I have a ER7206 and an EAP720.  I did spend 30 years as a unix/linux administrator!

 

I was able to connect my (first) ISP ok, using a Verizon 5G fixed wireless router. (to ER7206 WAN port 3)

I enabled pass-through on the VZ router, and can get in via wired ok.

 

This is my desired network. (see pic below

 

Quick questions:

I was hoping to NOT use the controller option, as I will not have many more devices than this (except for the IOT stuff I am doing)

I had the ER7206 before the EAP720 and did a configuration ok

when  hardwired to the ER7206, I can get out ok.

However the EAP720 will not let me log on to any of the 3 ssid's there

Should I delete the EAP720 config and start over?

 

Some interesting results so far:

I did change the default accounts on both devices

 

ON the EAP.  I can do a SSH into the correct account using putty. (call me old school!)

on the Router, I get a network error, connection refused.

 

-->  I cannot find the option to enable the SSH option on the ER7206.

 

ANY quick suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am approaching a time crunch to get this working!!

 

I have a time deadline because I want this to be working (using the wifi and the EAP720) BEFORE I move next week.. so no one in the family will notice any changes.

Wan2 will be a docsis modem with spectrum

Wan3 is the Verizon 5G ASK-NCM1100 Router  (currently in passthrough)
