I noticed recently that the router is getting a 99% CPU usage, i tried restarting it and it return to normal then 5 days since i just saw it came back to 99%.

Hi  @Jeesoon1 

May I ask what is your network topology?

Did you configure any advanced settings like ACL or VPN?

Did the issue happen for the first time?

Its a star topology, got 2 site with same topology but this one is much larger network.

 

Both have ACL and VPN configure.

 

This is just the time i noticed this was going to 99%.

 

The other site goes to 99 and i restart it the same time with this site and it went down from then, only Site A goes up to 99 again.

I used to see things like this on earlier firmware (like 2 years ago) and i never figured out what exactly was causing it, what i did find was that doing a pin-hole reset wouldn't fix it, but a GUI initiated factory reset then readopt would, and then it would stay fixed.

 

I haven't seen anything like this on both my ER8411 units for ages now and they both have multiple WANs, tons of ACL, lots of VLANs, NAT rules, DPI, IPS etc.  The fact that the cpu line goes straight up and stays flat looks like there must be some specific trigger but i dont know what that might be
