Model: VIGI C340
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.1 Build 251218 Rel.66582n

When human detection is enabled and snapshots are uploaded via FTP, the images are only stored at 640 × 360, even though the camera sensor and main video stream support a much higher resolution.

I also noticed that the same low resolution is used even when using basic motion detection instead of human detection.

This makes the feature much less useful, especially for security purposes, because the uploaded image often lacks enough detail to identify a person or properly understand the event.

It would be very helpful if the camera could save FTP snapshots at the main stream resolution, or at least provide a setting to choose the snapshot resolution.

Is this a firmware limitation, a configuration issue, or a design choice?

If I have no solution I will send back this hardware as it is of no use to me.

Hi,@DGEDGEDGE
Thank you very much for posting on our business forum.

Currently, Cameras cannot support modifying resolution for media files uploaded to FTP Server. This restriction is implemented to avoid excessive storage usage caused by a large number of large-size high-resolution files, which would otherwise affect the normal operation of other services.

If you require full high-resolution media files, we recommend that you use local storage solutions: you can store your video footage locally via an SD card or a Network Video Recorder (NVR).

Thank you again for your kind understanding.

  @Nathan-TP

My ftp server is able to store Tera bytes of Data so the size is not an issue, on a Giga byte network....
I am realy disaponted that the firmware software does not enable to have full size ftp storage.
