Dear TP-Link / Community:

The question is as follows: I’d like to monitor a property and two separate areas of it with 2 PoE security cameras. At the property there is only a single power outlet and a single Ethernet (UTP) cable available. My idea is to connect a TP‑Link POE380S Omada PoE++ injector to that, then connect a TP‑Link SG2005P‑PD PoE switch to the injector. To this first switch I would connect one Aqara G5 Pro PoE camera and a second TP‑Link SG2005P‑PD PoE switch, and to this second switch I would connect a second Aqara G5 Pro PoE camera. Is this setup possible?

Devices's power datas:

TP-Link POE380S  Omada PoE++ Injector  (1 piece)
• Input: 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz, 1.6A
• Output: Auto-determine the necessary power requirements (max. 90 W)

----------

TP-Link SG2005P-PD   PoE switch   ( x2 pieces)
  1-Port PoE++ In and 4-Port PoE+ Out

• PoE In Port: Port 5, Compliance with 802.3af/at/bt
• PoE Out Ports: Ports 1-4, compliance with 802.3af/at PoE
• PoE Power Budget:
-64 W when powered by 802.3bt Type 4 (90 W)
-44 W when powered by 802.3bt Type 3 (60 W)
-19 W when powered by 802.3at
-6 W when powered by 802.3af

----------

Aqara G55 poe camera ( x2 pieces)
Power Input: PoE: 48V 0.27A

Hi,@Adamando

Thank you for posting on our business forum.

Your plan is feasible. The POE380S PoE injector complies with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards and delivers a maximum output power of up to 90W. When connected to this injector, the SG2005P-PD switch can be powered up and operate normally as intended. That said, we would recommend that you verify the maximum power consumption of your connected camera in advance, to ensure it does not exceed the maximum output power and total PoE power budget provided by both the switch and the PoE injector. We also advise against connecting an excessive number of devices to the switch, to avoid insufficient or unstable power supply.

For more detailed information, please refer to the product specifications:

For Injector: Specifications - POE380S | Omada PoE++ Injector | Omada by TP-Link

For Switch: Specifications - SG2005P-PD | Omada Access 5-Port Gigabit Switch with 1-Port PoE++ in and 4-Port PoE+ out | Omada by TP-Link

 Should you have any further questions later, please feel free to post in this thread at any time.
