Model: ER7212PC   OC300   ER7412-M2
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi everyone,

I currently have an ER7212 (v2) in my setup and I am planning to upgrade to an ER7412-M2 along with a dedicated hardware controller (either OC220 or OC300).

I’ve already looked through several similar threads here, but they were either focused on the ER7212 v1, older versions of the Omada, or are already closed to new replies.

I’m looking for some advice on the best migration path. Specifically, I’d like to know if the following workflow is feasible with the latest firmware updates:

  1. Use the "Copy Site" feature to transfer my current configuration from the ER7212 site to this new site.

  2. Adopt the new ER7412-M2 and the OC220/OC300 into this new site.

Is this the recommended way to move to the new hardware while keeping my existing settings intact? Or should I approach this differently to avoid potential issues with the different hardware specs?

Any advice on this migration path would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,@skansen
Thank you for posting on our business forum.

We regret to inform you that the ER7212PC is a specialized three-in-one router, and it only supports configuration and data migration between ER7212PC devices running the same or higher firmware version. Configuration import and export between the ER7212PC and any software controllers, hardware controllers, or Omada Central Controllers is not supported.

If you need to switch to a new controller, you will need to reconfigure your custom settings on the new controller. Thank you for your understanding.
