We're having some bad issues with the L2TP Client-To-Lan VPN and Apple Products.
Any iOS or macOS Client show the message that the L2-TP-VPN_server does not respond!

Windows Clients works fine, so anything should be configured right!

Seem like the Apple Device try to handle out with different DH Groups (Starts with 14,5,2) but the TL sends no answer?!

Any suggestions?

Have you ever double check your configuration on VPN ?
Have you enable the Ipsec?

Hi...

still done and tested with other devices.
IPSEC is enabled (IPSEC Connections from TL-ER6120 to other hosts works fine)

same problem

same bug here. It won't work with apple since last actualization (OS X or iOS 10). But with a older software or Microsoft work fine.

Hi friends, I have the same problem. When I use Microsoft, the VPN L2TP work fine, when I use a Apple Device, they doesn't work (MacBook or iPhone, the last version).

same problem, TL-ER6120 fw 1.0.7 and iphone 6s IOS 10.0.2
Works fine VPN IPSec between TL-ER6120 and TD-W8970

HELP !!!

Same problem!
TL-ER6120 v1.0.7 with iPhone SE 10.0.2
The L2TP IPSec connection is not working at all!
Please do something to solve this issue! We really need it!

Same problem here. L2TP works just fine with Windows 7 and Windows 10. It does not work with MacOS Sierra, nor does it work with iOS 10


Attempting the connection from the Sierra VPN directly gets this message: VPN Connection The L2TP-VPN server did not respond. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator.


Attempting the connection from Shimo 4 gets this message: Error Message Failed to establish a VPN connection. IPSec connection failed

Hi , I have found a beta firmware for thisrouter,it is s solution for the L2TP VPN .

NOTE: You may need to reconfigure the router after the firmware upgrade.

I've found on http://tp-link-support.de/firmware/TL-ER6120/ a firmware dedicated to this issue: http://tp-link-support.de/firmware/TL-ER6120/TL-ER6120v1_160622.beta.Apple-L2TP.zip. Maybe will help you all!
