So I've configured two of my current CPEs on this link I'm testing to be accessible remotely (off-site) by forwarding their server TCP ports through the one DSL modem that manages them to the WAN, say for example for the AP port 50001 and for the client port 50002 respectively.
Now when I log-in remotely to each one but only one at a time - that is logging-out of the first before logging-in to the other all is fine, I can check all the stats I need and what have you, HOWEVER...if I am already logged in to :50001 for example, open a new tab and log in to :50002, then the first one logs out automatically and instantly with no other user intervention and the same thing happens if the sequence goes the other way around. I find no real logic behind this, so i thought I'd ask here in case anyone else noticed or can shed some light as to why this might happen.
P.S.: when logging in locally (using the LAN IP for the AP and the local-through-the-wireless-IP for the client), both the CPEs remain logged-in simultaneously as one would expect.

I noticed this also. It's a side effect of checking wether another admin login is active at the time of login. If one uses port forwarding to connect to two or more CPEs, they share the same browsers' DOM. Therefore, it's a bad idea by TP-Link's developers to check for another login without taking ports into consideration.
To work-around this misconception, I use two different browsers, but the right way would be to have TP-Link fix the AJAX logic doing the login.

+1 at using two different browsers, hadn't thought of that! So it is indeed something that could be solved on a software basis, one can only hope.
I'm also sometimes getting a message to save changes after a few days of uptime (without myself or anyone having made any to be honest), so does this also fall into the category of poor software dev?

Yeah, but I have only three different browsers on my laptop, but four CPEs to manage, so I hope they will fix it sometime. :D Times are gone where you could open a dozen windows with a single browser, which were completely unrelated as it was with the first version of the gone Mozilla browser.
Regarding the save changes button: on my CPE210 it didn't turn up for more than a month now, but on the CPE510 it still happens from time to time. No idea what is changed or saved by software (if at all). A button to display pending changes would be very helpful, not only to find out what causes this automatic changes, but also to verify manual changes.

Building on top of your previous trick of using two browsers you may want to try out this, it's going to blow your mind.
Use just one browser (yeap, one)...follow the usual procedure to log-into the first CPE yet access the second CPE using the first browser's 'incognito/private' function...tada no more auto-logging out (tried with both Chrome and Safari), which in effect doubles your capability to view 6 CPEs now given that you have 3 browsers installed. And now you' re just short of 2 CPEs, thank you ;)

With regards to logging changes I've already posted on another thread that I find the current log implementation lagging way behind others (even TP-Links routers log much much better) as I have DHCP turned off on all my CPEs (managed by the routers they' re connected to) and apparently the CPE's log only...deals with local DHCP entries for some reason, while there's a lot more to log in errors / info messages and what have you...

No, that doesn't help. I always use
Private Browsing, even for regular web browsing and the behavior is the same as with
Private Browsing disabled.
BTW, you don't need to actually login at the second CPE to get logged out on the first, it is sufficient to just load or re-load the signin-page. Likewise, you will see that you have been auto-logged out only if changing the web site's state on the first CPE, e.g. by navigating on the first CPE or applying changes. My Safari is a very old one (version 5.1.10), possibly it works with newer versions, but make sure to navigate on the first CPE if testing (or wait until Status page does an automatic reload to update the page).

I do re-affirm that with current versions of both browsers (Safari / Chrome), the procedure as I described above works just fine, i.e. one can have both windows up concurrently running on one browser one being a normal window, the other a private / incognito one. Only thing that appears to hiccup is the timeout period (set at 30 minutes) that is for some reason not being respected as it auto logs-out after about 5' of inactivity on any of the two windows, no biggie.. :)

Funny, the 30 min. session timeout works with my CPEs, but not the private browsing window with an old Safari version. I will give it a try with Chrome, thanks for the tip!
