Firmware Version : 2.02 Build 20160401 Rel 65964

Hi All
I have a 1GB fibre circuit and have connected the 2 new AP 220's connected directly to a 4 port TPLINK GB POE Switch. The issue i have is speed or lack of on both 2.4 and 5Ghz Channels.

2.4GHz

5GHz

Both seem to very inconsistent from the Theoretical speeds.

2.4 GHz
Channel Width : 20/40Mhz
Channel: 6
Tx Power : 20

5Ghz
Channel Width : 20/40Mhz
Channel: 48
Tx Power : 17

Any ideas what for ideal settings to achieve the near to the quoted 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz by TP-Link for the EAP 220 ?

Thank you

There are too many factors influencing the speed of data flow from some website to client devices, so no general advice can be given. If you want to test the wireless speed of EAPs, run a professional speed test such as iperf just over a WiFi link between two EAPs (not some client device!) to determine maximum possible practical speed of EAPs. Run the same test with your laptop/PC to get figures for the practical speed of an EAP with your particular device, etc. And don't expect same speed over WiFi as over wired connections, they usually differ by a great amount.

Theoretical speed for wireless gear is always calculated by formulas assuming an ideal environment and therefore is totally unrelated to what you can achieve under real life conditions. That said, the values above for data speed (not wireless speed!) don't tell anything about real-life capabilities of the EAPs in another/better/worser environment.
