[FONT=arial][SIZE=2]I installed 3 EAP330 in my home, 1 on each floor. Each AP configured with a static IP address and the same 2 SSIDs. I did not use the controller software to configure the APs.
All 3 APs connected to a Ruckus 4124 switch using a POE injector. Also, both Ethernet ports on the APs are connected to the switch. I have 150mb FIOS connection to the internet.
Using a Dell OptiPlex XE2 running Untangle UTM as the router. Running a speed test on the Apple iPad Air, the results are 10mb down.
Is there a configuration setting to improved the throughput? Thanks

Do you use the trunk feature of the EAP to bundle the Ethernet ports? If not, you created a loop if both Ethernet ports are connected to the switch and that could be the reason why the EAPs performance degrades.

Thank you for the speedy reply. I will enable that feature on each AP. Is there an advantage to using the EAP Controller software? Thanks again, Alonzo

Wait a moment. To use port trunking (better known as Link Aggregation) your switch must support this technique, too.

Depends on what you want to achieve with your setup. For the average home user setting up an EAC (EAP Controller) does not make much sense. If you want to manage the EAPs using central management software or need usage statistics or want to offer hotspot services, then yes, the EAC could be helpful to achieve this. I don't use an EAC for my home EAPs, but I do use it for EAPs at various customer sides for central management.

I have a Ruckus Zoneswitch 4124, I configure the ports for Link Aggregation and set Active. The download speed test is better on iPad Air (50MB). My ISP is Verizon FIOS at 150MB. The APs are connected direct to the switch. I am using POE injectors to power the APs. As for EAC, I would like to see what the kids to are connecting and sites visited.

The EAP330 has a 1,000 Mbps Ethernet interface. There is no need to use link aggregation for a maximum throughput of 150 Mbps. It only makes sense if the 1,000 Mbps interface would be saturated, e.g. due to local traffic between client devices and a real fast server in your LAN. Actual Internet throughput depends on many factors. I have no idea what slows down your link on an iPad, but I would recommend to keep the setup as simple as possible and test each component (ISP, router, switch, EAP WiFi network) separately using a laptop with a modern WiFi adapter to find the bottleneck.
As for EAC, I would like to see what the kids to are connecting and sites visited.
Not possible with EAC. It will not log or analyze the payload of Ethernet packets. Why don't you just ask your kids what sites they visit and show them some interesting stuff? My kids show me cool sites unasked, we always exchange interesting links of all sort. ;) As for problematic content I educate them, so they can rate it independently.

Is there a big difference between version 1 and version 2 for this model EAP330? I just purchase these APs last week, t received version 1.

No. It is just a "Visual Identity" update: new packaging, new web UI, new corporate logo on the occasion of 20 years company's anniversary.
