I just installed my first EAP225 in what I hope to be a multi-unit deployment for a home based business However, I have noticed that connected devices will drop off or not have Internet connection while still being connected to the AP. I am running firmware v 1.0.0 Build 0160810 Rel. 42430. I have 3 SSID's set up and they all do the same thing. It is rather frustrating when trying to update a computer or a tablet and then there is no Internet connection. I am also using the latest version of the EAP Controller software. Is there something I am missing or is there something wrong with my unit?

When you lose Internet access, can your wireless clients still obtain a normal IP, and you can try to ping AP, gateway, 8.8.8.8 to see whether it's accessible?
And how about the wired connection, if there is any wired devices connected to the router/switch before AP, you can also have a look at whether it's able to access Internet normally.

You also need to make sure you have select a relative clean channel, otherwise, the interface might affect.

Besides, you can download the latest firmware to have a try: http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/EAP225_V2.html#Firmware

At last, you can also share your detailed topology and more information such as whether will it recover automatically or requires a manually reset when issue happens.

Same issue

I have an EAP225 and am seeing exactly the same issue. I can set it up, it works, providing internet access for a few minutes and then the internet stops. The EAP225 keeps running, and it has a status of 'connected' in the controller, but any connected device no longer has internet access.

To answer winstars questions,
I have an Archer VR900 V1 router connected to the EAP225 via two switches (a TL-SG1016DE and a TL-SG108PE).
All are on the latest firmware. All QoS settings are the same (very low traffic, it's just me today!) but no ports favoured over others.
Wired connections are not affected when the EAP225 loses the internet.
Wireless connections to the VR900 are not affected when the EAP225 loses the internet.
It does not recover automatically and the only way I have found to return internet access is to reboot the EAP. I've tried it with PoE and also with the mains adapter.
I'm not running any VLANs and I have one SSID only.
When I lose the internet, my wireless device still has an IP address. I've tried with both an iPhone and a Windows 10 laptop.

Any thoughts on what could cause the internet to stop when everything else remains up (and the controller can see the EAP, with a status of connected, with two connected users)
Thanks,

If your Internet connectivity is going down, check wether your client device still can ping the EAP225 and the Archer VR900. Also check wether DNS is still available. If so, the problem is in your network setup on the WAN side of your Archer VR900.

We have plenty of EAP225 in use at customer's sites all managed by our company and not a single one "loses" Internet connectivity sporadically except if the ISP's link goes down.

You said I have one SSID only. You are not sure which frequencies(2.4G or 5G) got disconnected, are you?
In general 2.4g is much more crowded. Please configure separate SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G, and see which frequency is disconnecting.
