Model :

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version :

ISP :

New user to TP-Link, however I am Cisco certified. I am having lots of troubles, they are probably all related. Number 1, I cannot get the controller to adopt the AP's. It discovers them fine, but wont adopt.

Number 2, I tried to upgrade the firmware of the AP by webbing in to the AP itself and when I preform the upgrade, nothing happens. I noticed that when I bourse to the firmware file location and select the file, the path starts with C://fakepath... the file is on my "D" drive, what is fakepath?

Number 3, I SSHed in to the AP using putty and the AP does not seem to accept any commands

Help,
Joe

Make sure you use the EAP's username/password (not the EAPC's username/password!) to adopt the EAPs.

Internal path for the file on EAP, nothing to be worry of.

Make sure to enable ssh in menu Management -> SSH on the EAP. Save it.

Then ssh will work:
$ ssh admin@192.168.10.147
admin@192.168.10.147's password:

BusyBox v1.01 (2016.05.30-02:05+0000) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

$ date
Sat Aug 19 18:26:02 UTC 2017
$
Thank you, oddly enough, I did nothing for about 24 hours and when I sat down to attempt it again I was able to adopt the AP's. I'm wondering if they were just upgrading or doing something that took a couple hours?

The devices do not upgrade by itself. But under Windows, alls sorts of indeterministic weird behavior is absolutely normal.
