Cant get internet

Cant get internet

Setting up new T1600G-28PS Switch....
Have plugged in the Router and cannot get internet feed from modem/router to work on the switch.
Changed default IP address of switch to be on same subnet as the Router (192.168.1.0 / 255.255.255.0), but still can not get internet access.
Switch is showing as a connected device on the Router console, but... once again, still can not get internet to come through the switch to a PC that is plugged into it.
Assume issue is DNS settings or Routing, or something.
Any basic setup guidance appreciated.
