Model :

Hardware Version :

Firmware Version :

ISP :

how do you make the above device work with a ADSL modem or LTE modem like a vivid Wireless modem. I have this modem setup at a holiday house the LTE modem provides the internet already so (internet)--VividWireless Modem -- TL-R600VPN -- spare laptop. I currently can't get it working on WAN port using Dynamic IP as it doesn't connect, Static ip doesn't work either. I could setup a VPN dial to my Mac OS server using L2TP option as i have a Mac OS Server runing VPN server in my primary house but i need to include the Pre shared key which is not available option in the Wan conneciton for LT2P. All i want to do is setup a VPN server so that when i am away from my holiday home i can connect to my spare laptop and other smart home devices such ,web cams to monitor the house.
Am i doing something wrong here i have opened the usual VPN ports forwarding on the Vividwireless modem, but the the WAN port says its not connected.

please add stops between the sentences, or there is nobody willing to see it. let's make your problem clear firstly. Your question is you cannot make your R600VPN get online successfully or you cannot to connect to the VPN server? BTW, what's the hardware and firmware version of your device?

Sorry about my first post i have fixed it in terms of missing fullstops. ok so my VPN router TL-R600VPN v4.0 is on firmware 4.0.1 Build 20171128 Rel.60595.
Ok so i have a LTE Modem providing the internet to my house its connected via WAN port to the TL-R600 and also connected via the LAN port to TL-R600, I want to make the TL-R600VPN the VPN server. So from my interstate house i can VPN in to this TL-R600VPN to access recordings from my DVR . Alternatively i could set up TPLink TL-R600 to dial out via VPN to my MAC OS Server at my interstate house, but it uses LT2P with PSK which the WAN dialer on the TL-R600 doesn't support.
Otherwise I think it might be blocking of the ports issue, by the LTE provider Optus it's probably a limitation placed on this LTE modem not observing port forwarding of ports 1705, 1723, 500.
So my alternative is dialing out from the TL-R600 to my Mac OS Server VPN might be a work around.

Your English is not very good...It's a little hard to read your description. What's your topology? I mean where is the vpn client.. Also what kind of VPN type do you want to use?

My English is not good? wow i am from Australia Geez, anyway i shall fix my english. My Topology is Internet ->Huawei LTE Modem by Optus (going out via LAN Port 1)-> CAT5 cable (coming into WAN Port) TP-R600 -> (going out via LAN Port 4) CAT 5E -> Huawei LTE modem (coming into) LAN Port 2. i have included a image for topology.
I have recently figured out that Windows 10 Pro has the facility to accept incoming PPTP connections, so I will probably leave my Windows PC on in my interstate location instead of my Mac Server which only accepts LT2P PSK connections only. The WAN VPN dialer on the TL-R600 has a PPTP connection facility.
