Best way to connect 2x EAP225 Outdoor
Hi guys,
I have connected successfully 1x EAP225 Outdoor via LAN to my router from Vodafone. I have used the Omada App. The Local Access did not show me the EAP, so i had to configure it as Standalone AP.
Do i need a Switch to connect the second EAP225 Outdoor via Mesh to the other EAP? The distance is too far and in the second I can’t insert LAN.
Sorry for the stupid question, I have no experience. In the manual it is written to repeat the steps to connect another EAP. But the 2nd one has no internet connection...so the same steps are not possible.
many thanks in advance
Lukas

EAP225-Outdoor firmware v1.20 requires Omada Controller v4.1.5 (which corresponds to OC200 firmware v1.7.0):
What is the firmware version of your OC200?
If your Omada Controller is v3.2.12 (OC200 firmware v1.2.3), then you should either downgrade the EAP225-Outdoor firmware to v1.7.0 or upgrade the OC200 Omada Controller to the latest version v4.1.5.
Note that this whole thread is more than a year old now and it is related to Omada Controller versions up to v3.2.12 only.
Beware: when upgrading Omada Controller to v4.1.5, it will install Omada SDN Controller which is a completely new product and has much more fancy settings compared to the old controller v3.2.12. You will first have to carefully read the Omada Controller Upgrade Guide and the section about mesh networks in the Controller User's Guide.
If you prefer to just follow the steps outlined in this thread to quickly set up a mesh network, I recommend that you downgrade the EAP225-Outdoor firmware to v1.7.0.

Does eap225 and other devices have some kind of special battery power?
The way I read the documentation... it says the connection between the root and hop1 and hop2 is via 5g and wireless.
If it is truly wireless Is there a performance hit ...?
I mean will you get faster/wider/better roaming coverage if each ap is wired?
