@defrank, if it's an Ethernet connection to the main router and if you can add a switch in the garage, it should be possible to connect an EAP to your network.

@R1D2 Hi!

I've got one eap225-outdoor connetcted by wire to a microtick router. I wanted to extened the wifi network to nearby gest house, but signal is too poor for end-users devices. So i set one more router in repeater mode in gest house, and it works pretty fine. Now i am thinking to make a mesh network all over the place ( 3 floor house + 1 smal gest house in 50 meters).

If i get second eap225-outdoor and set it on the gest house, do i need to connect it by wire with same router as the first eap? Or it can somehow make a network over air?

In best way i want to place a router with incomming internet wire in the attic of the main building (3-rd floor), connect it by wire to one eap-outdoor and with other eap set right under on the ceiling at 2-ond floor. But i need 2 more eap-s connected wireless - on the first floor and at gest house. And all EAPs working in one mesh network. Is it possible and what d-link hardware shoud i use?

@Kolobo4egggg, I would not recommend to use wireless connections indoors (from 2nd to 1st floor). Use either an Ethernet or a PowerLAN connection for indoor EAPs. As for the indoor EAPs I would choose EAP225 (indoor version).

To create a wireless link between the main building and your guest house you can use a mesh network with the existing EAP225-Outdoor and another EAP225-Outdoor at the guest house, but there should be a free line of sight between both EAPs. Depending on the material of the guest house's walls you could probably get enough WiFi coverage indoors by the EAP225-Outdoor mounted outdoors. If not, consider an EAP225 (indoor version) for the guest house connected by wire to the outdoor EAP.

@R1D2 Thank you for your advice! Powerline is a good idea. But as i read, i will also need OC200 controller to run mesh network. but i don't get how to connetct it to the network

@Kolobo4egggg, OC200 is the most easy solution, yes. You just connect the OC200 to your existing network/router. It will detect the EAPs and after adopting the EAPs you can manage them using the OC200.

Traffic from wireless clients still flows through your network, not through the OC200.

@R1D2 Thank you!

And one more question - can any of EAPs work as CPE? Recive internet by wifif and give it to a regular PC by wire?

@Kolobo4egggg, EAP225 and EAP225-Outdoor both support mesh mode which is similar to repeater mode, but not the same.

You can mesh (wirelessly link) those EAPs to EAPs of the same type and connect other devices to the LAN port of the wirelessly linked mesh node, yes.

@R1D2

One more question. I've got some devices (cams, door lock etc.) that support only 2.4 ghz range. Will they work with mesh network? As i understand it combines both 2.4 and 5 ghz in one.

@Kolobo4egggg, yes, 2.4 GHz devices will work in a mesh. Data is then forwarded between mesh nodes over the 5 GHz band.
You did understand correctly.

@R1D2  thank you bro so mush!!!

Now i have mesh with 2 eaps225-outdoor one eap225, oc200 and safestream TL-600VPN. In main house speed is now up to 90-100mb/s(was max 30), at gest house 10-20mb/s(was 5 max). And omada app is so easy to understand and to use. Don't know where to leave review, but i love omada products.

Do you have any suggestions on pointing outdoor eaps antenas? Now i made same 90 degree low and point it each to other.
