Model: TL-R480T+
Hardware Version: V9
Firmware Version:

Hello All!,

I just bought the Load Balance TL-R480T+ model and I need to configure it, I have been reading so far, asking for TPLink Support but still need some help, not all questions were clarified. Could you please support me?

Needs

a) So far I have 1 internet provider, so the first port is occupied for this purpose, in the mean time I will not use the port #2.

b) Port #3: I need to split it into 2 VLANs: Administration and Public Area

c) Port #4: One VLAN needed for this port to be used for SecurityDep#1

d) Port #5: One VLAN needed for this port to be used for SecurityDep#2

So far I have done

a) Port #1: Configuration done for WAN1

c) Port #4: VLAN41 (VLAN ID=41) configured for Port #4 (4 UNTAG)

d) Port #5: VLAN51 (VLAN ID=51) configured for Port #5 (4 UNTAG)

I need your support for

b) Port #3: I don´t know how to make the configuration of 2 VLANS for same Port               <<<-----------------------------------

z) Question: When you have several VLANs in the same Port, this means that you have the same set of IP addresses (e.g. 192.168.1.0 until 192.168.1.254) for every one?

or all VLANS share that range?

In advanced, Thank you for your help!

@Ruben_Zamudio

b) Port #3: I need to split it into 2 VLANs: Administration and Public Area

You just need to add port 3 to 2 VLANs and set port 3 as tagged port. Suppose that port 3 is connected to a switch, the uplink port of that switch should belong to these 2 VLANs and be tagged port as well.

z) Question: When you have several VLANs in the same Port, this means that you have the same set of IP addresses (e.g. 192.168.1.0 until 192.168.1.254) for every one?

or all VLANS share that range?

If you want to assign different IP range for different VLANs, your device should support multiple DHCP server and support to set VLAN interface, it's a pity that R480T+ doesn't support this. So if you use R480T+ to assign IP address, all devices will be in the same IP range(e.g. 192.168.1.0 until 192.168.1.254).
