Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.0

I am trying to do something I think should be possible based on my research so far but it isn't working correctly.

I have an EAP245 connected to port 6 on a T1600G-28TS switch.

I have the EAP245 configured with 6 SSIDs, each SSID gets tagged on a separate VLan. 10, 11, 20, 40, 50, and 51.

I also have a "dumb" switch connected to ETH2 on the EAP245, and need all traffic coming through here to end up on VLan 40.

I have the PVID for Port 6 set to VLan 40. Port 6 is set to "TAGGED" on all VLans.

At the moment all SSIDs are working except that I can't get the VLan 40 wireless traffic AND the untagged wired traffic to work at the same time.

If I set port 6 to VLan 40 "TAGGED" then wireless connections to the VLan 40 SSID work but wired connections beyond the EAP do not get to VLan 40.

If I set port 6 to VLan 40 "UNTAGGED" then the wired connections end up on VLan40 as required, but wireless connections to the VLan 40 SSID do not work.

My understanding based on reading pages and pages of sometimes conflicting T1600-T2600 VLan configuration directions was that I should be able to configure Port 6 to pass all tagged traffic through as tagged, and treat all untagged traffic as a specific VLan, in this case VLan 40.

Is what I am trying to accomplish impossible or is it achievable and I just have the wrong settings?

Thanks,

Judah

@KocherJJ, AFAIK the 2nd Ethernet port of EAP245 is not VLAN-aware. That's why you see traffic in VLAN 40 on the 2nd EAP port only if the switch untags it on egress. Thus, it's not possible to combine tagged VLAN 40 traffic (from the SSID assigned to VLAN 40) with untagged traffic from the 2nd port of the EAP.

Maybe you can disable VLAN-tagging for this SSID to force untagged traffic from this SSID to the switch. PVID=40 will assign this traffic to VLAN 40. To separate this untagged traffic from untagged traffic to the EAP itself use the Management VLAN setting of the EAP.
