Model : TL-R600VPN
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 1.1.0 Build 120326 Rel.56491n
ISP : BT Infinity
Every time I reboot using the button on the configuration screen my router loses its settings and it reverts to the factory defaults. If I simply power it down and back up again the settings are retained.
Is this a bug in the firmware or have I done something wrong?

:confused:how do you find is reverts to factory default settings? how about reset the router by clicking restore to factory defaults and reconfigure the router entirely? Moreover, maybe you can try with a different browser to see how it goes...

That's better! I think the problem is when you upgrade the firmware, then restore the settings from the backup. Feeding them all in again instead makes them stick permanently!
Thanks for the suggestion, it shouldn't be necessary to do it this way, but it works.

Nooooooo! Here we go again! I rebooted my router recently and lost all the settings again.
My TL-R600VPN has now been replaced by Amazon as a faulty unit and I've upgraded its firmware to the latest version 1.2.0 Build 130216 Rel.61471n. Then I typed in all the settings manually instead of restoring from a backup. IT STILL LOSES ITS SETTINGS ON EVERY REBOOT! That makes it a useless piece of kit.
Unless I can find a solution to this problem I'm going to have to replace it with another brand.
Please help me TP-Link...

it's weird,. make sure the button you clicked is reboot but not restore??
if it's a firmware problem, all 600VPN users should meet this problem. anybody has same issue??

Yes, it was definitely the Reboot button!
What made this situation worse was that I had been using the VPN connection from abroad. One day I couldn't logon to the VPN so I rebooted and... NOTHING. I had to wait two weeks to restore all the settings from backup when I got home :(

Amazon has agreed to refund my money and I've now bought an Asus RT-N66U which gets great reviews. Sorry, but I can't accept the TP-Link router being unreliable.
