Model: AC500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20171212 Rel.39651

I configured my newly purchased AC500 wireless controller with 5 CAP 1200 AP's and every thing works fine unless i rebooted the controller.

All the AP's disappeard from the AP status page in controller along with no IP could be found in DHCP Client list though all the settings are same.

we have two VLans in network and i put all wireless controller and AP's in same Vlan and port type set to Access.

Kindly correct if i'm making any mistake as i tried to reconfigure it 3 times and the result remain same.

@iam.moizazam, did you save the config after applying changes?

@iam.moizazam, I can only guess since I don't own an AC500. Usually, the CAPs get the controller's IP through DHCP options 138 (CAPWAP) and 60 (Vendor Info). They then should connect to the controller and appear there. So, make sure the DHCP options are set. Also check whether the controller and the CAPs are running latest firmware versions.

@R1D2 Actually i want to use Controller as DHCP for ap and the option you provided is for external dhcp such as L3 switch or windows dhcp server which i want to use for clients only.

Further it works on the first when we setup the controller it shows all the AP's with IP provided by controller but after the reboot all disappeared and some time DHCP shows AP's with IP in client list but do not shows in AP Status and some time it even does not display AP's in DHCP client.

@iam.moizazam, maybe the AC500 inserts option 138 automatically. I did read in the docs about this way of connecting CAPs with the controller.

I recommend to contact TP-Link support. They should be able to help you. See contact information on your country's TP-Link website for instructions how to contact customer support.
