Hi! I have an existing EAP110 set up as master access point. I'm planning to connect multiple(at most 3) CPE210 to it as client. Is there any issue I should expect to encounter? Will I have issue with hidden node problem? How do I go about this issues? Thank you in advance and have a good day!

It's house to house, around 30m with direct line of sight. Ptp but with 2 to 3 possible clients instead of a 1 to 1 connection.

@mgmamac I am just testing TPLink hardware.  I am not for sure TPLink has radios that have enough degrees of span to do PTMP depending on the span is between them??

I will PM you more info

Hi @mgmamac,

The better option would be to use pairs of CPE's per point to point link.  Think of each pair of CPE's as a long wire from point to point.  You might be able to get away with one CPE per client house (let's say 3, one per client house), and perhaps less than three on your "Master" house (which has the internet connection) -- but this depends on the location of each client house as the CPE antennas are usually very directional.  Worse case, the master house would have three CPE's on a pole with one rotated to face each house.

Then from each client house CPE, you would run ethernet into the house and connect to an indoor AP.

Alternatively, since you said it is only 30m, you might be better server with, for example, 4 EAP225-Outdoors.  The house in the center with the internet is the Master Node with the EAP225-Outdoor mounted outside and hardwired to your internet.

Then each client house also has an EAP225-Outdoors mounted outdoors, and these are wirelessly MESHED to the master node.  Wifi and/or hardwire from each of these client AP's then serves the local end users in each client house.  It would still be better to run wire from the client Outdoor AP to an indoor AP to host the users.

It's recommended that your run Omada Server or get an OC-200 as well for the Master Node house for management, fast roaming, and dynamical MESH configuration.

@JSchnee21 Hello! Thanks for your reply! The thing is I already have this EAP110 setup with Omada software for more than a year and just don't wanna buy stuff more than necessary. Would it not work just connecting CPE210 as client to this existing EAP110? Thank

Hi @mgmamac,

Are you referring to the 110-Outdoor?  I though there used to be a 110 indoor, too, but I don't see it on TP-Link's website.

The CP210 would probably work fine connecting to the 110-Outdoor as a client.  You could also probably use additional 110-Outdoors or 225-Outdoors.

Speeds will be slow, regardless.
