Model: TL-SG108E
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20171214 Rel.70905

I have a TL-SG108E v3 connected by a trunk on port 1 to a pfsense box. This trunk carries 3 x VLANs that then go out to 2 x EAP 245 access points & to other clients.

802.1Q VLAN Configuration

VLAN ID VLAN Name Member Ports Tagged Ports Untagged Ports Delete
1 Default 1-8   1-8
10 VLAN_ADMIN 1-3,8 1-3 8
20 VLAN_GUEST 1-3,6 1-3 6
30 VLAN_VPN 1-5 1-3 4-5
40 VLAN_LOCAL 1-3,7 1-3

7

Port 1 is connected to the pfsense trunk - ports 2,3 are the access points then the rest are port based VLANs as above. Everything works as expected - all clients can connect to the expected VLANs with the ip serverd from the pfsense dhcp.

My problem is that if I run iperf tests between any client & the pfsense box, whether directly connected to the switch or through the access points- speeds are abysmal - max 50 Mbits/s. If I reset the switch & just connects directly to the switch with a cable from another port going to the pfsense box I get 640 Mbits/s.

Is this normal with VLANs enabled on this switch?
