Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 4.3.5

Hey, gang.

I'm running the latest version of the controller software. Using THE Tp-Link router and an Omada managed switch. If I visit any of the usual internet speedtest sites on the Windows PC that is running my controller software, I am consistently seeing very close to a full megabit down. ~900 something. However, the speed test that's builtin to the controller software reports very inconsitent results anywhere between 300-600 mbps.

Is anyone else seeing something similar? Found any "fix" for this?

Yep.  I have 1GB fiber - speed tests from a wired machine show consistent 900+, but the controller usually reports 250-300mbps for some reason.  Not seen any fix - I wonder if it has to do with whatever remote server the controller is picking for the speed test?

I have this issue as well.  I have 600 up and 600 down fiber.  Constant speed tests showing only half of that...yet wired windows clients get full 600+ on speed tests.

@matthewrknoll same here. 1000 Mbit but I only get reading between 300 - 400 Mbit on the internal speed test. A speed test connected to the same gateway and WAN delivers the whole 1000 Mbit.

I am running multiple ER605 v1.0, can anyone confirm this for a ER7206? This might be a limitation due to the low performance of the silicon.

  @codingjoe

Hi, I'm experiencing the same issues on both types of routers ER605 and ER7206, both running latest firmware.

I have full speed on my lan ports on both networks but erratic readings on the Omada speedtest.

Will try and reach their support.

Likewise. I have 1GB service up & down. From PCs inside the network Ookla SpeedTest consistently reports 860-960 down and 900-980 up, yet the SpeedTest at the gateway (latest firmware), reports 260-320 down and normally similar up, although the test I just ran reported 740 up. Everything is Omada managed.

It looks like this is a really long-running bug that is not getting addressed.

Some devices may not be able to measure the full speed of your internet service. It's also possible that your Wi-Fi router doesn't support the full speed of your service. Browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc…) have different capabilities and may provide different results, particularly on high-speed connections.

However, many experts have found that speed tests are too often inaccurate. According to Lifewire, these inaccuracies are usually caused by an overlooked detail, like a poorly placed router or a full browser cache.

This is why Omada is not intelligent with speedtests

Here is my speedtest from the web:

Here it is from Omada:

Both of them are "speedtest" powered.  Only Omada is woefully innaccurate.  I can download the same speedtest app on my phone or tablet and get the same results I do from my browser.  Only Omada doesn't know what it's doing.
