Model: EAP225-Wall
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 5.0.2 Build 20210316 Rel. 67337

Hello,

I have an access point that seems to constantly disconnect and reconnect to the Omada hardware controller running 1.1.0 Build 20210406 Rel.58776.

I have ssh'd into the AP and these are the errors that repeat in the ecs.log file:

[Error][2021-07-11 10:22:41][_send_rebuildReq] 1797:send rebuild req failed, ret=-1(want 176).

[Error][2021-07-11 10:22:41][_do_rebuild_state] 2918:next time try rebuild

[Error][2021-07-11 10:22:41][_do_rebuild_state] 2888:retry build failed for long times, goto reset

[Error][2021-07-11 10:22:41][ecs_changeState] 1687:ecs state changed from 5 to 1, reason = 1

[Error][2021-07-11 10:25:11][ECS_open_tcp_client] 0539:wait to connect failed, errno = 150

[Error][2021-07-11 10:25:11][_do_adopting_state] 2320:open tcp server fail.

[Error][2021-07-11 10:25:11][ecs_changeState] 1687:ecs state changed from 3 to 1, reason = 1

[Error][2021-07-11 10:45:59][_do_managed_state] 2723:wait inform rsp time out

[Error][2021-07-11 10:45:59][_do_managed_state] 2728:inform response is not receive for 30s, rebuild connect

[Error][2021-07-11 10:45:59][ecs_changeState] 1687:ecs state changed from 4 to 5, reason = 4

[Error][2021-07-11 10:46:05][_send_rebuildReq] 1797:send rebuild req failed, ret=-1(want 176).

[Error][2021-07-11 10:46:05][_do_rebuild_state] 2918:next time try rebuild

[Error][2021-07-11 10:46:08][_send_rebuildReq] 1797:send rebuild req failed, ret=-1(want 176).

Any suggestions on what may be going on and how to troubleshoot this?

I have reset this AP multiple times to no avail.

Thank You!

@Stephen2021

Is your controller the latest version V4.3.5? What's your network topology? If EAP constantly disconnects from controller, it indicates the connection between EAP and controller is unstable. You can check your cable connections.

Besides, what's the EAP status on the controller when the issue happens? Will the internet of EAP be affected? If you can remain connecting to EAP's Wi-Fi, you can ping the controller's IP to check connectivity.

@Somnus

Thanks for the reply Somnus.

Controller Version:

4.3.5

Model:

OC300 1.0

Firmware Version:

1.1.0 Build 20210406 Rel.58776

The EAP's status is DISCONNECTED in the controller most of the time.  It will change to ADOPTING then PROVISIONING and then CONNECTED.   Will remain connected for 5 - 10 minutes and then go to a Missed HeartBeat.   Seems to repeat this cycle constantly.

I have moved the AP from one physical hadwired room to another.   I took my EAP620 and tested these drops and it worked fine.   I even re-terminated both ends just for sanity...

When the EAP is in this condition I can not ping it or SSH into it.   Whats even more troubling is that no matter how much I tried after hard resetting I could never connect directly to the EAP's access points and browse to it.   I could never discover it with the phone app.

I really think this one unit is defective.  I didn't have too much trouble with 5 others I setup and configured.  Just this one.

Thanks,

Stephen

Which one is the EAP225-wall? Try connecting it to office-switch-2, the same switch that OC300 connects to, and see if things will be better.
