Hi!

I have currently three CPE510 in PtMP setup and it's about working. Except the bandwith as they are sharing the same 100Mbit/s LAN connection in "main CPE".

Now i'm planning to upgrade two of CPE510's to CPE710's as that model has 1Gbit/s LAN connection. So the question is that can i connect CPE510 to CPE710?

Main = CPE710, building with 5G connection

B1 = CPE510

B2 = CPE710

Antenna Beamwidth should not be a problem as CPE510 is in same "line of sight" -line.

1st question: will it work or do i need totally three CPE710?

2nd question: Are CPE510 and CPE710 POE working with fex https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/transmission/Network-Switches/Value-Series/ds-3e0505p-e-m/ switch?

Thanks in advance!

br, Mikko

@mikkoim

Hi Mikko,

For you first question, of course you can use CPE710 and CPE510 together because they both are 5G devices and will connect to each other via 5G channel. But as you can see CPE510's LAN port is limited by 100M, if you configure it as a client, it will still limit the speed of your devices. You should consider this.

For your second question, do you want to use the switch you mentioned to power on CPE? If yes, I have to say they are not compatible. CPE supports passive POE, while the switch supports standard 802.3at/af POE. When you purchase POE devices, you have to consider is their POE standards are compatible.

Hope my answers are useful!
